Outside Scholarships and Resources

The Home Security Scholarship
  • Up to $25,000 per year for 100 first-time freshman or existing college students, renewable up to four years and one additional year for those entering a qualified five-year engineering program.
  • $2,000 one-time awards for an additional 1,000 students.
  • 1,100 scholarships, including 100 renewable scholarships of up to $25,000 per year.
Eligibility: Incoming freshman:
  • Applicant must have a cumulative high school grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale
  • Taken either the ACT or SAT test and must be a high school or home school senior graduating or earning a GED between January 1, 2013 and July 31, 2013
  • Enroll for fall 2013 as a freshman at a two-year or four-year college or university.

Current Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors:
  • Applicant must have a cumulative college grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale,
  • Be enrolled full-time at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university between January 01, 2013 and May 31, 2013.
How to Apply:

Last semester we asked students to tell us about their plans to positively impact their community and nation upon graduation. This semester we're asking students to write about how to improve the safety of our nation's cities.
