Soccer Graduate Assistant Coaches

   
Dakota Wesleyan University (NAIA) is seeking two (2) Graduate Assistant Soccer Coaches. These positions will be heavily involved with both the men’s and women’s soccer teams.

Goalkeeper’s Coach & Assistant Varsity Coach; Responsibilities include assisting the head coaches in areas of recruitment, goalkeeper training, game management, transportation, fundraising, and other duties as assigned by the head coach. A yearly stipend, meal plan assistance and 2/3’s tuition remission applied towards a graduate degree is available.

Men’s Head Reserve Team & Assistant Varsity Coach; Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in areas of recruitment, practice organization, game management, transportation, fundraising, and other duties as assigned by the head coach. A yearly stipend, meal plan assistance, and 2/3’s tuition remission applied towards a graduate degree is available.

Qualifications include: (1) bachelor's degree, (2) collegiate and/or professional playing experience (3) strong background in soccer knowledge and terminology and (4) prefer at least a “D” license or Advanced Regional Diploma or Goalkeeper Level 2 Diploma (as applicable). Successful candidates should display integrity, strong interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of DWU and our values of learning, leadership, faith, and service. Golf Graduate Assistant Coach

   

Dakota Wesleyan University is seeking a Graduate Assistant Golf Coach. The tiger golf teams have a strong tradition of success within the Great Plains Athletic Conference and the NAIA. This position will be heavily involved with both the men’s and women’s teams. Responsibilities will include assisting the head coach in areas of practice organization, tournament transportation, program administration, fundraising, recruitment, and other duties as assigned by either the head coach or athletic director. Generous tuition remission applied towards attaining a Master’s Degree is available. Also included is a $1,500 yearly stipend. This is a two year position, beginning August 1, 2013. The selected candidate will be expected to graduate on time in May 2015

Graduate Assistant Volleyball Coach

   

Dakota Wesleyan University, a NAIA institution, is seeking a Graduate Assistant Volleyball Coach. This person will be responsible for assisting the head coach in areas of recruitment, planning and participating in practices, game management and program administration. A small stipend and 2/3 tuition remission towards a graduate degree is available.  

Qualifications include a bachelor's degree and a strong background in the sport of volleyball. Successful candidates should display passion for player development, strong interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to the mission of DWU and our values of learning, leadership, faith, and service.

Assistant Professor of Nursing

   
Dakota Wesleyan University Arlene Gates Department of Nursing is seeking an individual to join the nursing faculty at our Mitchell Campus. This position begins August, 2013 and includes teaching, clinical supervision, academic advising and other DWU related activities. 

A current South Dakota RN license is required. Master’s in Nursing desired; Bachelor’s in Nursing with progress towards a Master’s in Nursing may be considered. Teaching experience and clinical background in medical/surgical nursing is preferred.  Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and have a demonstrated commitment to the DWU mission and values of learning, leadership, faith and service. Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications.

Executive Director of the McGovern Center for Leadership and Public Service

   

Dakota Wesleyan University, a private liberal arts institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church, seeks an Executive Director of the McGovern Center for Leadership and Public Service.  The executive director designs, develops and facilitates the programming efforts of the center to include:  conference programming, development of undergraduate academic curriculum, teaching, fundraising, and other initiatives. 

The ideal candidate has a PhD in public policy, political science, non-profit management, or other social science related discipline.  A minimum of five year’s experience in public policy, non-profit leadership, or public service is preferred. Applicants with master’s level preparation will be considered.  The candidate will be responsible for teaching one or two courses each semester in the academic major affiliated with the Center as well as overseeing the operations of the Center.  The Executive Director should also be a passionate advocate of the issues that were fundamental to the life of the late Senator George McGovern as well as demonstrate a commitment to developing future leaders for service to God and humanity. 

The George McGovern Center for Leadership and Public Service offers a variety of leadership and public service centered programs for students, faculty, staff and the global community. The center was launched in 2006 and it is named in honor of two of Dakota Wesleyan University’s most prominent alumni. Senator George McGovern distinguished himself as a pilot during World War II, a former congressman and senator who ran as his party’s nominee for president in 1972, and as a United Nations Ambassador who fought to end world hunger.   The leadership and public service academic program prepares some of Dakota Wesleyan's best students for careers in public service and leadership through selected coursework, leadership seminars, research projects, and internships that lead to a major or minor in leadership and public service. Interns are placed with federal, state, local, and foreign government or private not-for-profit agencies, such as the White House, the U.S. Congress, many state and federal agencies, humanitarian agencies, church mission programs, and the United Nations.

The closing date for the position is April 10, 2013.  The ideal candidate would begin work on either August 1, 2013 or January 1, 2014.
