Multifaceted Education
Concepts of caring, spirituality, leadership and service are integrated throughout the levels of the nursing program.

Two Year, Associate Degree (AS) Plan of Study, Mitchell Campus or Huron Site
Students can complete the nursing program, pass the national licensing exam (NCLEX-RN) and begin practicing as a registered nurse (RN) in two years.

RN-BS Nursing Program
The RN-BS nursing program provides the opportunity for RN students to develop abilities and skills related to the roles of the baccalaureate nurse. The Nursing component of the program is offered online, which accommodates the goal-directed adult learner.
One Year, Associate Degree (AS) LPN-RN Plan of Study, Sioux Falls Site
Courses are designed for LPN's to enhance knowledge of human health needs and nursing interventions while developing management of care skills needed by the registered nurse (RN) in the current health care setting.
Active Involvement in the Profession of nursing
Nursing students and nursing faculty are actively involved in professional nursing organization activities at the local, state and national level. A Dakota Wesleyan University associate degree nursing student (Mitchell/ or Huron) received the prestigious “Outstanding Nursing Student of South Dakota” at the annual state nursing student conventions in 2005, 2008, 2011, and 2012.
