DWU offers 18 Faculty Awards for Academic Excellence to high school students
MITCHELL — Each year Dakota Wesleyan University offers Faculty Awards for Academic Excellence to high school juniors nominated by their high schools. This award allows recipients to take one course for college credit at Dakota Wesleyan with no tuition fee.
The guidelines require that each of the 44 high schools in the area nominate one junior student by completing a nomination form. The DWU Faculty Educational Policies and Curriculum Committee selects recipients who may enroll in one college course for credit without charge, as long as space is available and instructors approve. The course is to be taken before the 2013 fall academic semester begins.
Students may enroll in day, evening or online courses at the Mitchell campus.
The following students were selected for this award: Brandon Andersen, Ethan High School; Kennidy Asche, Scotland High School; Adam Bormann, Stickney High School; Josh Curtis, Winner High School; Shelby Huber, Menno High School; Rose Knoechne, White Lake High School; Evan Mastel, Mitchell High School; Traci Orth, Wessington Springs High School; Candice Page-Marten, Sanborn Central High School; Trey Persson, Hanson High School; Trevor Reinesch, Kimball High School; Andrew Schwader, Howard High School; Lizbeth Spinar, Plankinton High School; Jaylen Uthe, Lyman High School; Kayla Vanden Hoek, Corsica High School; Jason Van Winkle, Canistota Public School; Camden Veurink, Dakota Christian High School; and Lynn Ymker, Armour High School.
