DWU to host candidates as election approaches

MITCHELL — The McGovern Center at Dakota Wesleyan University will host legislative and statewide political candidates during a series of brown bag lunches this month in advance of the Nov. 6 general election. Scheduled candidates will make a brief presentation at 12:15 p.m. in Java City within the McGovern Library, but each will be available to speak with voters from noon until 1 p.m. Food and drink will be available for purchase during each event. The following is a list of the candidates scheduled to speak during the noon forums:

Oct. 16 — Dave Mitchell (D), candidate for SD House of Representative
Oct. 17 — Chris Nelson (R), candidate for SD Public Utilities Commission
Oct. 18 — Kyle Schoenfish (R), candidate for SD House of Representatives
Oct. 23 — Tona Rozum (R), candidate for SD House of Representatives
Oct. 24 — Mike Vehle (R), candidate for SD State Senate
Oct. 25 — Matt Varilek (D), candidate for US Congress
Oct. 30 — Quinten Burg (D), candidate for SD State Senate
Oct. 31 — Matt McGovern (D), candidate for SD Public Utilities Commission
Nov. 01 — Stace Nelson (R), candidate for SD House of Representatives
