DWU’s Highlanders to tour area high schools

MITCHELL — The Dakota Wesleyan University’s Highlanders will perform in area schools this week for a special music tour.

The first high school performance will be Thursday, Nov. 1, at Mount Vernon, followed by Plankinton and Chamberlain. The Highlanders will hit the road again Friday, Nov. 2, for performances at Platte, Dakota Christian and Stickney.

They will sing pieces that range from “My God is a Rock,” “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “Amazing Grace,” among others.

There will be select student soloists:  Traci Stork, a sophomore from Alexandria, will sing a solo for “Smoke Gets in Your Eyes” and Elizabeth Morrison, a junior from Mitchell, will perform a solo for “Stormy Weather.”
