Choral Union still open for registration
MITCHELL — The Dakota Wesleyan University Choral Union is still accepting singers for this semester.
The DWU Choral Union is a combination of the Wesleyan Choir and the Community/University Choir, drawn together to perform large works. The DWU Choral Union often collaborates with the Huron Symphony, the Wesleyan University/Community Band or local instrumentalists.
Rehearsals are from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in Smith Hall, room 211, on campus. There will be a $15 music purchase charge for all singers. If interested, come to rehearsal or contact Dr. Clinton Desmond at 605-995-2676 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Membership to the DWU Choral Union is open to any singer high school age or older. Community members pay a music fee each semester and DWU students may register as a community member or as a student for academic credit – this provides an opportunity for students to earn credit for chorus when their schedules don’t allow them to be members of the Wesleyan Choir.
This semester, the Choral Union will perform with the Wesleyan Choir for the homecoming Hymn Festival at 5 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 7, at the First United Methodist Church.
