DWU recognized by U.S. News & World Report as one of best regional colleges
MITCHELL —Dakota Wesleyan University is ranked among America’s best regional colleges, according to the recently released U.S. News & World Report “Best Colleges 2013.”
The annual “America’s Best Colleges” study by U.S. News & World Report is a culmination of data taken from regional colleges, high school counselors and various sources to create a comprehensive look at what colleges offer and how they assist students on their road to success. Everything from class size to financial assistance to how competitive admission processes are, are taken into account.
“DWU has a 127-year-long tradition of educating students from all over the nation and multiple countries. We also recognize the value of a personalized education and our small classes enable professors to engage students in deep and meaningful discussions about our world,” said DWU Provost Amy Novak.
“So much of what students learn is outside the classroom and textbook, and we have made real strides in expanding on those experiences through expanded undergraduate research, internships, service learning opportunities, clinical experiences and special speakers. Further, our intentional commitment to helping students discern their strengths enables them to select majors and future careers that best align with their talents and passions. This makes the DWU experience particularly valuable for students.”
DWU is ranked among regional colleges in the Midwest, which includes 12 states.
DWU is a private, liberal arts university associated with the Dakotas Conference of the United Methodist Church. For more information about Dakota Wesleyan University, visit www.dwu.edu.
