DWU’s Simmons to present at South Dakota Festival of Books

MITCHELL — The annual South Dakota Festival of Books takes place this weekend and Dakota Wesleyan’s Dr. Don Simmons will be presenting.

Simmons, dean of the College of Leadership and Public Service, along with Jack Lyons, of Yankton, founded the book festival 10 years ago while he was the director of the South Dakota Humanities Council.

He will speak about his new edited book “Plains Political Tradition” at 2 p.m. in the Palisades II room at the Holiday Inn-Downtown.

The South Dakota Festival of Books is held every other year in Sioux Falls and Deadwood. For more information about this weekend’s events, check out its website at www.sdbookfestival.com/.
