Overview

Our Peer Assistant Program was created to help new TRiO student’s transition to college by providing assistance with navigating the DWU campus, faculty, and staff and the expectations of college level learning. TRiO Peer Assistant are successful junior and senior students.

The TRiO Peer Assistant Program is CRLA (College Reading and Learning Association) certified.  Peer Assistant attend a two day training to learn more about campus and community resources and build mentoring skills such as: ethics and the role of the mentor, boundaries, establishing rapport, questioning and listening skills, and confidentiality.
