Wildlife management students at DWU can expect quality instruction by experienced, dedicated faculty who care about each of their students. Small class sizes mean that all students receive personal attention by their professors in both lecture and laboratory.
Our faculty are active professionally in grant writing and research, which means that they keep current in modern techniques of wildlife management and have real-world experience in their field. DWU faculty involve undergraduates in their own research, as well as encourage them to obtain outside internships to develop future employment opportunities.
DWU students have received internships with the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks, the National Parks Service, and the South Dakota Department of Health, working on projects involving habitat management, conservation, goose depredation and research involving West Nile Virus.
